ATEQ Quickset TPMS Reset Tool FAQ

Q- Why can’t I run my QuickSet program?
A- Most communication failures are due to:
1- USB Driver was not installed or incorrect USB Driver installed- must install correct driver for your computer Operating System (see compatible drivers).
2- QuickSet was not plugged into your computer through the USB cable during installation or running QuickSet program.
3- QuickSet tool is not compatible with your Operating System (see information tab).

Q- Where do I get the ID numbers for my TPM sensors?
A- The ID numbers should be documented at the time of purchase in order to program the QuickSet tool.
NOTE: If you are not able to find the ID’s in your paperwork you must contact the company that the sensors where purchased from. You can decode your sensor IDs using a TPM decoder such as the ATEQ VT30 or ask a tire shop to decode the sensor IDs for you.

Q- Why do I get a “RED” or "Orange" light when my Quickset is connected to my computer?
A- Corrupted firmware installed into the Quickset, contact ATEQ support.

Q- Why do I get a “RED” light when I try to download the ID’s from my Vehicle's ECU?
A- Try pressing the button a second time. Need to update QuickSet software, QuickSet tool is not currently compatible with your vehicle (see compatibility chart).

Q- Why do I get a “RED” light when I try to upload the ID’s to my Vehicle's ECU?
1- Not including “spare tire” for second set of wheels on QuickSet set-up.
2- You must turn the ignition key to the “ON” position with engine “OFF” before the QuickSet tool is plugged into the vehicle ECU. (Push start equipped vehicles: press the push start button twice without pressing the brake pedal.)

Q- How do I get the TPMS light to shut off after loading ID’s to the ECU
A- You must drive the vehicle for a minimum of 10 minutes at over 25 MPH, if the light remains on one or more of the following may be occurring:
1- Tire pressure is not within the specified manufactures value.
2- Sensors installed are not compatible with vehicle's ECU.
3- Not all “custom rims” are compatible with vehicle TPMS.
4- Some aftermarket window tint are not compatible with vehicle TPMS.

Q- I went through the procedure and have a green light on the tool after pressing winter or summer but the TPMS light is still on:
A- You tire sensors might still be in sleep mode: Several ways we could try to activate the sensors:
1- Drive the vehicle “right after” the reprogramming.
2- Drop the tire pressure to 25% less than what is specified on the placard and inflate them back to the standard value. Do the same for each tire.
3- Visit the dealer or the tire store to see if they can“trigger” the sensors for you.
   a. Sensors will be activated when they are trigger.
   b. You can compare their triggered values with the IDs that you have on hand.
4- Buy or rent a TPM trigger tool such as the ATEQ VT30.

A- Some aftermarket sensor IDs have values which fall outside of the values accepted by the vehicle's ECU.
