Schrader Invests $10M to Increase TPMS Capacity at Tennessee Plant

Schrader, a world leader in tire pressure monitoring system production and innovation, has boosted TPMS capacity at its Springfield, Tennessee product plant.

The $10 million invested into the new manufacturing line is a direct result of exponential TPMS growth in the domestic market. This growth is influenced by a number of factors including: increased demand for TPMS service and repair, an increase in vehicle sales among Ford, GM, and Chrysler, and an overall increase in the demand for TPMS in the aftermarket.

What has this recent investment done to the production capabilites at Schrader's Springfield, Tennessee plant?
  • Increased TPMS production capability by 8 million units
  • The creation of 76 new manufacturing jobs at the facility, with about 100 more to be added next year
Hugh Charvat, Schrader president and CEO says, "Three main factors have contributed to the success of our Springfield facility: talented, eager, and well-trained employee, a centralized location near our customers and the company's long history in delivering best-in-class TPMS technology. Combined with the ongoing demand for TPMS sensors in North America, Schrader-Springfield is positioned for growth, and we will continue to invest here."

An additional manufacturing line is expected to be added early 2014.
