TRW Cognitive Safety Systems has made a name for itself in the automotive industry as a leader in automotive safety technology, and research and development. TRW produces advanced active systems in braking; steering and suspension; and occupant safety systems.
Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Acura, and Toyota choose TRW to fit its vehicles with safety necessities including: airbags, seat belts, steering wheels, and tire pressure monitoring sensors.
TRW uses both basic and enhanced direct Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems.
The Basic tire pressure monitoring system alerts drivers when tire pressure is below vehicle specifications.
The Enhanced system locates the underinflated tire(s) and displays individual warnings.
The TRW tire pressure monitoring system comes in two parts, the sensor and receiver. Each battery-powered Remote Frequency sensor is installed in each wheel. Each sensor collects data on tire pressure and temperature and transmits this data to the receiver unit. The data is then interpreted and relayed to the driver.
