2013 Volvo S80 and XC70 TPMS Recall

A tire pressure monitoring system software error has been identified in some 2013 Volvo S80 sedans and XC70 wagons. The error occurs when driving for at least 15 minutes above 25 miles per hour. "TPMS Service Required" will be displayed on the dash, whether or not a legitimate fault in the system actually exists. This TPMS software error prevents the tire pressure monitoring system from accurately alerting the driver if one or more tires is actually underinflated.

No accidents or injuries related to this software error have been reported. However, driving on an underinflated tire can result in:

  • Loss of vehicle control
  • Lowered fuel economy
  • Increased CO2 emissions
  • Increased tire wear and risk of tire failure
  • Road discomfort
If your vehicle is affected by this TPMS software error, we would recommend that you check your tire pressure on a regular basis until you can get the issue resolved.
