Schrader Unveils New TPMS Solution for Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Schrader has announced the North American launch of its Off-The-Road (OTR) tire pressure monitoring system. This specially designed tire pressure monitoring sensors alerts drivers of flucuations in tire pressure and temperature and provides enhanced data capabilities for fleet operators. What makes the OTR TPMS sensor special is that is measures, monitors, displays, and transmits critical tire performance data, including tire pressure and temperature, to drivers and fleet managers while vehicles are in service. The Off-The-Road TPMS system operates within three distinctive areas on large, heavy vehicles (mining, port vehicles, construction, earthmoving machinery); the controller and visual display are mounted inside the cabin for the operate; antennas are fixed to the vehicle outside of the cabin; OTR sensors are mounted on a specically designed patch applied to the inside of the tires.

Real-time data allows fleet managers to further analyze on-site operational performance and make critical decisions with more confidence.

Trevor Potter, VP of Schrader's North American Aftermarket states, "The Schrader OTR TPMS suite offers our customers real-time information about the state of their fleet vehicle tires, including pressure, temperature, overall wear and much more, and records this data for subsequent analysis. In turn, our customers experience increased equipment uptime, improved fuel efficiency, increased safety and reduced overall operational costs which allows them to optimize tire performance and extend tire life. This is critically important in OTR, mining, and infrastructure project environments where tires and fuel costs are typically the highest operational costs to the business itself."
